Mr. Massey earned his B.A. in Corporate Communications summa cum laude at Lindenwood University, and his J.D. at St. Louis University. After his own divorce and vigorous custody battle, Mr. Massey raised two daughters as a single parent.  Because he has never forgotten how that experience changed his life, his family law practice places special emphasis on how the divorce process impacts the children.

"I can not speak highly enough about the case that Rick worked for me, and will recommend him to anyone needing legal assistance."

Since directing his focus exclusively to family law, Mr. Massey has helped multitudes of people navigate their challenges with divorce and custody issues while also helping them keep what is rightfully theirs. His unique combination of litigation and business experience make him a strong advocate in the courtroom, and a highly effective negotiator.

In addition to representing individuals with their divorce, child custody, and estate planning needs, Mr. Massey served as in-house counsel for Quilogy, Inc., a successful information technology company with offices across the Midwest and Western United States for almost 10 years. He has a wide range of experience in business law as it relates to brick and mortar as well as internet and e-commerce related issues, intellectual property law, leasing and other real estate transactions, contract and business litigation.

He contributed to the creation and implementation of business and policy decisions on Quilogy's senior executive team from 2006 until the acquisition of the company by Aspect Software in 2010.  In February of 2010, Mr. Massey left Aspect Software to establish his own separate legal practice.

Mr. Massey understands the "business" component of divorce.  He knows how to use the law to protect his client's financial interests.  He also understands the importance of preserving a good life and future for the kids.  He is especially proud of his work with parents protecting their rights to child custody, visitation, child support, and advising them of their options to safeguard the well-being and quality of life of their children.

He is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the St. Charles County Bar Association, the Family Law Section, the Elder Law Committee, and the Solo and Small Firm Practice Committee of the Missouri Bar Association.
